Q. If I have a problem not addressed anywhere on this site, whom do I contact?

First, check below to see if we've answered your question. You can e-mail us with your questions, concerns, and comments at info@mytopiacafe.com. You can report technical problems there, too. Between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., you can call 1-386-252-1511, ext. 2572.

Q. How can I use this site?

A. You don’t need to be a registered user to browse the site or use the calendar of events. You do need to register to post stories, photos or add events to the calendar. See the “How to Use this Site” page for more information on posting photos and adding events or stories. Registration on the site is free. The simple registration form will allow you to become a member quickly and easily We promise not to sell your information to anyone, however from time to time we may need to contact you regarding information you may post on the site.

Q. I forgot my password, what do I do?

A. Click the "Forgot Your Password?" link under the login. If you're still having trouble, call (386) 681-2572 for assistance.

Q. How do I sign in if I’m already a member?

A. After you have registered, go to the main page and enter your username and password. Click “Login” to be taken to your community page.

Q. What information will other member see about me?

A. Only your username will display along with the stories and photos you post, unless you divulge contact information in the text of the stories and photos you post. Only Localknowitall.com and News-Journal staff will know your name, e-mail address and telephone number. We will not share or sell that information to anyone else.

Q. If I select a primary community of interest, will I have access to other towns?

A. Yes. You can browse and contribute content to other towns as a member.

Q. How come I can only post my event or story to one town?

A. Unfortunately, we've found that some users will abuse this privilege and post commercial messages all over the place. If you have an event or story that crosses geographic boundaries, email us at info@mytopiacafe.com with the additional relevant towns and we can review your request and make the change.

Q. How can I earn rewards?

Q. Why doesn't my town have its own page?

A. We've divided Volusia and Flagler counties based on how our current regional publications are distributed. With participation from your community, we do have the ability to break out separate town pages in the future. Keep posting and using the site and show us that you can stand on your own. We'll be watching;-)

Q. How do I find/change what I’ve posted?

A. Access your postings, photos and stories by clicking on “My Stuff” at the top right hand side of the page. You can also change what you’ve posted by clicking “My Stuff” and clicking the “Modify” button next to the story, photo or event. Make your changes and click on either “Save as Draft” or “Post”. To delete your item, follow the same procedure, but select “Remove”.

Q. What can I post?

A. You can post almost anything as long as you play by the rules of our family-friendly web site. See the “User Agreement” for specifics on what is prohibited. We do ask that you refrain from posting content of a commercial nature...your garage sale or your business' weekly special, for example.

Q. Who monitors the postings of stories and photographs?

A. You and your commmunity members will do most of that by using the “Report Content” button to notify us if there is content that is objectionable. We will review it and remove content if need be. See the “User Agreement” for guidelines. Staff will review and select some content for the main pages of the site.

Q. Where did my event go? I created one, but I can't find it in the calendar.

A. When you select the calendar view, make sure that the "Sort By" option under the Story/Photo/Event tabs is on "Most Recent" and not "Editor's Choice".

Q. How long do posts stay on the site?

A. Indefinitely. Some stories will be selected by staff for the main pages of the sites and those will change frequently. But even if they are moved off the front page to make room for something new, your content will remain on the site. You can find it by using the search function, or you can tell your friends how to find it by using the “Print This” or “Email This” functions at the top of every story, photo or event. You can also copy and send the Web address of the page you post.

Q. How do I cancel my account?

A. Email us and we’ll take care of it. Removing your account will remove all the content you’ve posted on the site. Also, please let us know why you’re leaving. Maybe we can fix it.

Q. I’ve found my name/and or news about me on your site and I don’t want it to be there. What can I do?

Let us know and we’ll consider your request, but it is unlikely we will remove it unless you’re a minor or the information is verifiably incorrect. Failing that, you can always post a comment to give other users your side of the story.
